Knowing that the blacks and whites weren't always happy together, I think that Acttius is going to get involved with people disliking what he is doing for the black. Acttius being involved with black in court also might trigger things to happen with Jem and Scout. A examples of things that have already happedend are at the finch landing Francis calls Acttuis a nigger lover.
Knowing what I know about Americas past I think that the biggest challenge for Atticus would be what a of the things people say about him. They say very bad things about him, but what makes Atticus different is that the bad thing do not seem to faze him. He does not care what they have to saw, and he does not care about what they say because he does not care. It would also be hard because in the time this book takes place blacks and whites seem like a whole differnt thing White people think all that African American people are are dirty theaves. So then when people see a white person sticking up for a black man they say bad things. That is why I think it has to be a challenge for Atticus to defend Tom Robinson.

Knowing what I know about America's past, I think that the biggest challenge for Atticus would be that people are saying bad things about him for defending blacks. Because back then they didn't really get treated equal. People might start going after Jem and Scout because of what Atticus is doing in court. Some things that have happened are that Mrs. Dubose and Francis called Atticuz a nigger lover and Jem and scout didn't like that, even though they don't know what it means.
Knowing that even right after the Civil War people were quite raciest and the time that they are in people didn't like blacks so no one will really side with the black person. It shows this in the book because people call them bad names and don't let them do certain things.
